Volunteer Program

CHILD CARE

Overview

Who Can Join?

Caring for children is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have. Our Childcare Volunteering Programs in Sri Lanka, Nepal, Vietnam, Thailand, and South Africa offer you the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young children in underprivileged communities. Whether it's at a kindergarten, pre-school, or orphanage, your efforts will contribute to their growth, education, and overall well-being.

Why Volunteer in Childcare?

Children are the foundation of our future, and by volunteering in childcare, you provide the support and care they need during their formative years. Your involvement helps them build essential life skills, fosters their development, and gives them the love and attention they deserve. As a volunteer, you'll play a key role in creating a positive, nurturing environment that allows these children to thrive.

What Will You Do?

Daily Care and Support
Provide for the basic needs of the children, including feeding, bathing, and ensuring their hygiene. Your hands-on care will make a world of difference in their day-to-day lives.

Early Childhood Education
Engage the children in fun and educational activities that promote learning and development. From storytelling and arts and crafts to basic literacy and numeracy, you'll be shaping young minds and preparing them for school.

Emotional Support and Guidance
Children need more than just physical care; they need emotional support and guidance. Through your interactions, you'll help build their confidence, self-esteem, and social skills, ensuring they feel valued and loved.

Health and Hygiene Education
Teach the children about the importance of health and hygiene through interactive and age-appropriate lessons. You'll help them develop good habits that will benefit them throughout their lives.

Frequently asked questions

  • No formal qualifications are required to volunteer in our childcare programs. We welcome volunteers with a compassionate heart, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to making a positive impact. Basic English proficiency is necessary, and a criminal background check is mandatory to ensure the safety of the children.

  • Our childcare programs are flexible, allowing you to volunteer for as little as two weeks or as long as several months. The duration of your stay depends on your availability and the specific needs of the program. We recommend longer stays for a more immersive experience, but even a short stay can make a significant difference.

  • While it’s helpful to know some basic phrases in the local language, it’s not a requirement. Most programs are conducted in English, and your coordinators will assist with any language barriers. We do encourage volunteers to learn a few key phrases to help communicate with the children and local staff more effectively.

  • Accommodation varies by location but is typically in shared volunteer houses, host family stays, or guesthouses. All accommodations are safe, clean, and provide the basic amenities you need. You'll have the opportunity to live with fellow volunteers, which enhances the cultural exchange and support network.
