Location - Goa, India

Goa is visited by more tourists than those visiting any other location of India. Beautiful sandy beaches and influence of the Portuguese culture make Goa a magnet for tourists. Goa its is interesting because of the vast array of activities it can offers. The Idex accommodation in Goa is located in South Goa near the Majorda Beach. This part of Goa is untouched by heavy tourist traffic and so it is serene and peaceful.

Plenty of domestic and international tourists visit Goa every year for its pristine white sand beaches, worship spots, nightlife and World Heritage architecture. It also has rich biodiversity due to its location in the Western Ghats. Most of the tourists focus on the coastal areas of Goa and there is not much tourist activity inland. Water sports is widely popular among tourists and beaches such as Calangute and Baga offer water scooter rides, parasailing, jet-skiing, banana boat rides and so on.

Goa has a cultural environment that cannot be found anywhere else in India due to the 450-year Portuguese rule. A mix of Western and Eastern culture can be seen here with the dominance of the Portuguese culture in its cultural, architectural and social settings. On the religious front, the Bom Jesus cathedral is a famous place of worship here. The convents and churches of Old Goa and the Bom Jesus Basilica are the two World Heritage sites in Goa.

The Bom Jesus Basilica holds the mortal remains of the Catholic patron saint of Goa, St. Francis Xavier. Apart from the beaches and religious spots, Goa is renowned for its important museums, the Naval Aviation Museum, the National Institute of Oceanography and the Goa State Museum.
