In Nepal, families with low-paying jobs need someone to care for their children during the day. Idex works with Day Care Centres to provide these children with support, medical assistance and comfort. Our volunteers assist the Centre’s regular workers. An Idex volunteer will help feed, entertain, teach and look after children in the centre’s care. These tasks have such a profound effect on the children of Nepal. And a similarly positive effect on the volunteers too.

Whether you’re an expert yoga practitioner or completely unfamiliar with the discipline, the practice, its history, and benefits come to life under the tutelage of Nepal’s great yoga masters.

You will learn about the craft of extracting this dye from the henna tree, the art of creating these delicate and beautiful patterns on the skin, as well as the cultural significance that this ritual holds.
Traditional Nepalese dress is known for its astounding colour and variation. More than just protection from the elements, traditional Nepalese dresses are woven together with culture and history as much as they are with thread and material. You’ll be guided in the many fascinating cultural and functional intricacies by knowledgeable Nepalese instructors.
What better way to learn more about a country than from its people? Have dinner with your local host family and experience the food and hospitality that is steeped in the tradition of the Nepalese people. Experience their everyday lives, stories, legends and fables in their own words.
