Teaching and Assistance Program
About Teaching & Assistance
In the words of Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” it is stated clearly that to change the world or society, it is essential that education should be given importance. Education is the birth-right of every child and equal opportunities for better education should be given to every child present in the society.
Every child should be given the gift of basic education and it is also considered as the bedrock of development. Education helps in changing the personality and the story of a child to live a better life. About 61 million children across the world are not able to attend schools and get basic education and they lead a life of poverty. Education opens the gate for a number of opportunities and increases the lifetime earnings of an individual. With the help of education, the poverty cycle can be broken and equal chances to get a healthy life are provided. In this line, UNESCO has stressed on the fact that primary education is the right of every child and the MDG (Millennium Development Goals) has been implemented with the same aim to provide basic education to every child. Education provides a gateway to remove poverty from the society and helps in improving the condition of people.
In this context, significant and sustained shift should be done in the educational policies for the upliftment of children. Along with this, it also ensures that a healthy life can be led by children in the upcoming years. This basic education will provide the children the opportunity to attain skills, knowledge and the confidence required to become economically active and responsible citizens. Education has a direct link to family health and nutrition and provides an enhanced opportunity to lead a healthy life.
Volunteers participate in such programs for educational enhancement of local students, mainly in the areas of English, Mathematics, Craft and Art. In order to encourage volunteers, we provide detailed workbooks and guidelines for teaching. Volunteers of Idex educate children through various creative and interactive methods of teaching so that learning can be made enjoyable. English language skills are extremely beneficial as they help in accessing employment opportunities to lead a healthy life. Education is the route to eradicate poverty from the community and it is also a means of improving the lives of children.
